MDE: Bug in restarting?
This happens here:
1. Start Pocket PC 2003 SE emulator
2. Start ActiveSync
3. Start Device Emulator Manager.
4. Change Pocket PC 2003 to Cradle in DEM.
5. Close emulator.
6. Close DEM.
7. Start Pocket PC 2003 SE emulator again.
8. Start DEM.
The Pocket PC 2003 option does not show up in DEM. A reboot cures the problem.
Which version of the DEM are you using?
At step 6, do you close the DEM completely or does it get minimized to the taskbar? When you mention that the "Pocket PC 2003 option" does not show up in the DEM, do you mean that the datastore treeview is empty, that the Pocket PC 2003 SE Emulator cannot be cradled because the context menu item is disabled or that the Pocket PC 2003 SE Emulator entry is missing? If the menu items are disabled, try using the "Refresh" button.
Version is 8.0.50409.00.
I close it completely.
The TreeView just shows "--Others"
Refresh did bring it back, so it shows again.
Can you confirm which version of the emulator you are using either the standalone version of the device emulator or the emulator performance patch version?
This issue does not happen with the current builds of the Device Emulator Manager. In the meantime, I suggest that you use the "Refresh" workaround before the next build of VS2005 becomes publicly available
