Services on Emulator

Possibly the wrong place to ask see final sentence. I have a service which I register under the service entry section. The service run on a 2003 device and was build with 2003 SDK. The service does not get loaded on a 2005 emulator and neither, I’ve just found, does it get loaded on a real device. Anything changed with respect to services ?
