Vfp 9.0 Report Writer.

Hello Guys
Vfp9 overall is very overwhelming for guys like me who have started very small with FoxPro 2.0 for DOS. Learning VFP 5 (on my own) with no decent books and absolutely no training available and getting all these releases and not all that time to get acquainted is really difficult. One has the choice to keep themselves to what they know and then gradually grow, but seeing all these features and not working on it is again a problem.

I have seen the report samples that come with VFP9 and they are amassing. There are few things I would like to know assuming that the report behavior is set to 90.
1.) The progress bar is displayed when one previews the report. Where does it comes from?
2.)What are the default classes or app's that are accessed when the report is previewed?
3.) User field is now available to the developers from the report writer itself and one can atleast use it for effects. Can someone point me to other effects classes other than the default which comes with VFP?
4.) We already have the option to get the report output to html, xml & tif files. Are there any classes available that can output the report to doc or xls files.

Thanks & Regards, Jitendra Shahani

There are 2 detailed whitepapers on the new VFP 9.0 report system features, see the links on the http://msdn.com/vfoxpro home page. You can find more articles on these topics in the VFP periodicals in the MSDN Library from FoxTalk, see the links from the VFP home page plus the Other... link as well. Also see the articles online at http://code-magazine/focus/vfp.
