ISV Buddy Program: Mini-FAQ
ReplyQuote

Here are a few of the most popular questions (and answers) that we get from ISVs in the program.

  • We completed the Request a Buddy profile but haven't heard back. What's going on?
    • The matching system makes buddy connections by comparing your profile to the profiles of Microsoft employees available to be matched. You won't receive a match notification email until the system finds an appropriate match for you. If you'd like to adjust your profile choices to increase your chances of a match just email us atbudsup@microsoft.com. One of the easiest ways to increase your chances is to be open to a match in any location.
  • When I visit the site to see my potential matches there are none listed. Where are my matches?
    • Matches are made on a first-come-first-served basis, so if you do not see any potential buddies listed for you it means that they've already been taken by other ISVs. (The same match email might also be presented to a maximum of two other ISVs.)
  • Can I have more than one Microsoft buddy?
    • You can only have one buddy through the program, but others in your company can sign up for a buddy with a different area of expertise.
  • What happens if my Microsoft buddy leaves the company?
  • What happens if I leave the company I signed up with?
    • There are a few options:
      • You can find a replacement at your company to be paired with your current Microsoft buddy.
      • If you are moving to another ISV, you can have your Microsoft buddy invite you again with your new company email address.
      • Just reassign your buddy to another ISV in the system
    • Once we know which option you'd prefer, we will remove you from the system and make any appropriate changes per your choice above.
