Initialization for plugin "Microsoft.Pcw.wss" failed

Hi

I have just installed TFS in a single server setup, following the help file on the cd.

But when I try to create a team project from within VS I get the following error:

Initialization for plugin "Microsoft.Pcw.wss" failed with error: "Client found response content type of 'text/html', but expected 'text/xml'.

I have added myself to the "TFS Project Creators" group and added the group to administrators in TFS, set the administrators group i wss, and added the contributor role to it in reports.

I found this post
http://forums.microsoft.com/msdn/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=13395

and it says to check for access tohttp://<apptier>/ , this I cannot do without getting an error similar to the one reported below ("Server application unavailable")

I have looked in the eventlog and it "only" has some old timeouts on stuff like http://navigo150:8080/Currituck/SyncAclService.asmx

Could someone point me in the right direction?

Well I have now managed to create a team project. The error seemed to be that SharePoint WSS has using ASP.NET 1.1 and the report server was using 2.0.
So changing all to use ASP.NET 2.0 makes it possible to create a team project.

But now I cannot access the the WSS site without getting the web part maintenance :-(

I suppose it has something to do with 1.1 assemblies being referenced.

You need to separate the two from running in the same app pool. WSS must run under 1.1 and Report Server must run under 2.0. Separating the App Pools allows a different process for each one. ( you may have missed a step somewhere)

Thank you. This was right on the spot. The ReportServer was for some reason set to use the StsAppPool1.
