Unable to read 2 (out of 3) media

Is there any reason that a TOSHIBA DVD-ROM SD-M1612 DVD player might be able to read the Visual Studio Team Foundation Server DVD, but not the SQL Server 2005 DE or the Team Suite media ("Windows cannot read from the disk. The disk might be corrupted, or it could be using a format that is not compatible with Windows.")?
Either way, is there an alternate method of obtaining the software?

Did you get this from MSDN? If you did, try redownloading the ISO.

I have access to limited MSDN through an Action Pack subscription and do not have access to the ISO files.
Also, I received a second set of the 3 discs yesterday from having attended an MSDN event last month and cannot access those discs either. Same error message. Is it possible to gain access to the ISO files in a situation like this? Or at least get a handle on how to fix the issue?
I have checked to make sure I have all the XP updates and OEM drivers for the DVD drive. Is it possible that the DVDs are in a format not recognized by my drive?
I'm running XP Media Edition (same as Professional) SP2 (and have Virtual PC for anything else) if that's significant.

Worked offline on this issue and it might have been the hardware. (DVD ROM)
Customer was able to copy the bits over to his hard drive and install the product however, the compact framework still failed.

i get this same message, i try playing a DVD movie that i purchased legally in the US, and thats where i live, so i dont think its a region code issue, in my dvd/cd-rw drive that came with the computer and i get that exact message. I have the Compaq Presario Sr1130nx, i have areadly updated my intervideo windvd player and it still happens, but it only happens on some DVD's, another DVD i purchased the same day from the same store play's back just fine in the same drive, i tried it in my friends DVD player. could somone please help me with this issue, i know its an old thread

another note, in My computer the icon for the drive is a cd on top of the drive and next to it it says DVD/CD-RW Drive (E, and after i put in the DVD that gets the error message, the icond turns into a big cd and underneath it it says DVD-ROM and next to it it now says CD Drive (E, do you think the drive is thinking that i put in an audio or data cd and thats why i get the error message?

Thank you

I'm getting the same problem, and was reading the forums, and it seems that no one posted a reply, as to if there is a solution to the problem or not.

Please advise...

Yes sony dvd's are not recognized easily by hp products, hp is the same model i and the friends have and we all have trouble getting the dvd drive to recognize Sony DVDs and sometimes others new formats, while all other DVD s are readable by the PC or desktop... HP should give us updates to recognize Sony and Liansgate, it is when they try to use their own dvd player with sony, and it is not recognized by the HP dvd drive..... I have had good luck reading and burning sony and all others though with DVD Fab, or DVD FAB PLATINUM who have the CSS FREE also, helps computor to recognize al types even Blue Ray and HD... www.dvd.idle.com and www.dvdfab.com But HP needs to get us some updated drivers to recognize new DVD writing codecs by sony and others. miker3x
