When i export a crystal report to excel format I am getting an extra page while prinitng.

Hi All,

This is regarding the issue which I faced while exporting the crystal report to Excel format I am using visual studio 2002 version. In my application I am exporting the

report to excel, pdf and word formats.

The problem I am facing is that, what ever be the report exported to pdf is coming in one page while printing. But, the excel exported is printing in two pages.

Is there any way we can set “auto adjust to page” while printing property to excel while exporting from crystal report?

Regards,
Vishwas

Hello Vishwas,

Here is a whitepaper that has tips on how to format your report to get the best results when exporting to Excel:

Most of the work is trial and error - little things like making sure that all of your fields are within the page boundaries, suppressing unused sections, moving columns over or adjusting column width etc.

You can also look to see if there are any updates available for your version with respect to exporting:

Hey Keith.
I have the same problem as Vishwas, only with a twist...the standard "well, it works fine from my machine."
I have 8.5 installed along with VS.NET w/ Crystal Reports. The field widths and placement are the exact same when exporting from my machine or from within our production environment, however, the print area is much larger when exported from my machine, so the report prints how we want it to print.
From within production, however, the print area is about 80% of the size, and we get 2 pages for every 1. I checked your links, but didn't see anything off the bat. Help!!!

Hello Nathaniel,

Are the printers in your production environment the same as your machine? A lot of the formatting that we use is derived from the printer drivers.

Have you tried applying patches or updates to the Crystal Reports 8.5 install? I haven't looked at the readme file for that version but there could be export related fixes there.
