Here is a mind Shuffling puzzle
We are a Consultancy Firm in Pakistan. We have a separate department for Custom Software Development .We have 10 people in this Department. Most of them are developers.

Most of our Projects undertaken are Web Based Projects. We have a team structure in which a single person is given a responsibility for a single client and that person selects some from the pool and facilitates the client. Two of our developers are dedicated for an Internal Software project [Software], which facilitates our BPO section.
Now here is what needed to be done:
1-We need to shift our self for CMMI level 2 till the mid of next year.
2-We need to adopt Visual Studio Team System as early adopters.
3-As we have decided to use MSF for CMMI as Process guidance framework to adopt CMMI practices.
Does any one on earth know how to formulate all that in such an agile environment?
Dear Mr. Inayat,
Yes. Now I am imlementing CMMI L4 with MSF for a Vietnamese Company. I am happy on the progress on so far. In past, I have implemented MSF + ISO + CMM together in my earlier company as a Quality Manager. Unless one has a thorough understanding of CMMI and MSF, it is difficult to implement.
Follwoing are the steps, I followed:
1. Defining Policies, Defining 7 streams (Life Cycles) : Product management, Project management, Architecture Management, Development Management, Test Management, User Experience management, Release Management. I had to take decision in this application development and ERP Solution implementation company on adding additional streams (Life Cycles) on support activities like Configuration Management, Quality Assurance Management, Resource Management, Risk Management. Also, added, 2 more streams (Life Cycles) related to Project Montioring and Control, Audits.
2. In the next stage, for each of phases in streams (Life Cycles), I identified Work Streams and also Work Items in each such Work Stream. Also, defined strategy to maintain records, measurements, queries, status reports etc in database.
3. While implementing, these work items also, while maintaining work products you may need Visual Studio products.
