Agent Desktop launched ... But issues ...

Ok...I have been on this for a while and at last Agent Desktop launched.... But it has issues....Before going to the problem our background info

Initially our setup was

We built a windows 2003 server called CCFDC . CCFDC - is the Primary Domian controller (PDC) for Domain CCF
We installed all the server components on this system(CCFDC) and created the DNS entries
1. CCFSQL
2. CCFIIS
3. CCFRS

as mentioned in the document to point to the CCFDc

To our dismay, the web services didn't work. Upon consulting KB site , I found out , IIS will not work on PDC computer

properly. (We tried the workaround as specified.but still didn't work)So we are forced to find another system for CCFIIS.

Unfortunately there are no other systems.

All our development m/c belonged to our corporate domain and not allowed to change the domain. Hence We installed Virtual PC

on one of our development systems and made that instance as a member of CCFdomain and named the system as CCFIIs.(There is

something really strange here. CCFIIS can access CCFDC{CCFSQL/CCFRS} ; but CCFDC cannot access CCFIIS. I don't why? I would

appreciate if you can help me out )

We installed admin console on CCFIIS. That also worked .

We installed AgentDesktop on CCFIIS server. At first it never launched. We ran the profiler and in the trace we figured that

@Agent is sent as blank. Not sure why,I hardcoded to 'CCF\DemoAgent1' in the SP and tried again. Now the Agent Desktop is

launched. I did a look up and searched with customer id 1. A record with 'Maeve Elizabeth' showed up and I double clicked
But nothing happened. I don't have any documents on how to proceed further. Please help

So a few things...
the CCFXXX names are provided as illustrations of how the configuration would be set up.
You’re not bound to it. However, some of the demo data is and you need to make changes in the admin console for it.

CCF uses the logged in users credentials to login to the CCF system.
So if you login as <domain>\administrator to the VPC.. the Agent desktop is going to try to login to the server as <domain>\administrator. To allow this to work, you will need to add the new account to CCF via the administration console, and then set up the application mappings to authorize the user to access the various demo components.

Take a look at the Admin Console User guide and follow the process starting at Section 3.
For application mapping look at the example of DemoAgent2 to see what you need to map your new agent too to get the demo up and working.

Thank youfor your reply. We chose to adhere strictly to the names for convenience

As far as I have seen admin console has quiet a few issues;

1. For instance

1. Afetr Agents there is a node called "Groups" . When I click on that it says "unable to retrieve the information"

2. When I want toadd a new Agent ... enter ccf\<somevalidusername> ... click on checkname.. it says not a valid domain name....

There are few other errors as well.........

As such now in the Agent desktop

at the top there is four buttons

Assistance ,Lookup,Applications,Help,

The rest of the widow is blank

with Left frame totally blue

Right frame is Grey and a separator that divides into bottom and top section... Any ideas why it is blank

Thanks for your help

Sounds like the AzMan settings are not correct.. You need to update the path names for AzMan to point wherever the azman.xml file is.
You can update that in the Admin Console under the settings node.

I am away from an install I can look up for the key names, when I get back I will post the key names you need to update.

Thanks Matt.. I got the .net 2.0 edition that works like a charm....

However the issues I faced are all windows 2003 enviroment issues and not CCF issue... If you host all on the same server and if the server is PDC , you will be facing a lot of issues..... Hence I struggled a lot.... Now the issue are resolved , I have started to use the desktop .....it works like a charm
