Install VSTO 2005 failure
Hello,
I downloaded the new VSTO 2005 (for Office 2007). When I try to install, I get the error message:
Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Tools for the 2007 Microsoft Office System can only be installed on a machine with the corresponding Visual Studio localized edition. Please install the matching Visual Studio 2005 localized edition and then run Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Tools for the 2007 Microsoft Office System setup again.
Can anyone tell me what to do? I have installed the following programms:
Office 2007 (german), VS 2005 (german)...

This is what Misha (VSTO team) came up with:
VSTO SE 2005 is currently only available to be installed on top of US English versions of VS 2005 Pro. Please stay tuned for localized versions of VSTO2005SE or install on top of US-English edition.
We anticipated the localized release to be available in about 1.5 months.
So you have to wait for the localized release

I wish I could start preparing my applications for Office 2007 but...
- Office 2007 (volume) is available in 7 languages now, but not in Italian!!! I have installed it in English just to start preparing the applications, but:
- VTSO SE does not install on my machine, because I have an Italian version of Visual Studio 2005 PE!
How funny...! If we had the expected release dates of the localized versions, it would help planning the work.
Hey! We ARE tuned but... one month and a half passed and yet no clue on when the localized versions are going to be released.
I have now VS2005 Italian + VSTO Italian + Office 2007 English (with Italian language pack) on my development machine. Result: no way to work on Office applications. And please don't tell me I have to uninstall everything and reinstall all in English or go back to Office 2003!!
Please let me know when you plan to release the localized VSTO SE. Thanks.
Me too, I get the same error. My vs 2005 is in English and it's the Academic Version I got from my school. Academic should be the same as the full version i suppose. I think the only diff is the price but i should be able to install vsto 2005 without error right?
