Search for a web address, edit it and show the result in Flyout automatically

I'm studying gadgets development and would like to make some tests with an idea that popup in my mind. Let's suppose that when I hit "enter" on my gadget it does...:

- load a webpage (in background)
- edit html code (for ex.: delete first 30 lines of code)
- show the result in Flyout.

Ok, I've already basic knowledge of sidebar/gadget development, but I would be very happy if somebody could explane me points 1&2. I mean, how can I load a webpage, edit it and write the result to a file so I can open it in Flyout?
