Show date/time format in the settings of the current locale of the browser

I am a German, and I would like to see the date and time formats in the locale set for my browser. This would be very helpful for us European guys. I always have to look twice or three times if I see a date like 10-02-2005!
Remember there is the world outside the USA... SCNR

All the posts in these forums seem to be in UTC time. My suggestion is to allow us to specify our timezone in our profile so that the posts can display local time instead of UTC. If there is a way to do this already and I've missed it please let me know but I see no place to specify my timezone in the "Edit Profile" section at this time. Thank you.
