Few questions regarding the Activity App

Hi,
I have gone through some of the posts in forum and come to know about some of the features of MSN activity SDK. But still I have few questions. Here are they:

1. Although some posts make it clear that we can use server side scripting (ASP.Net) for the webpage in MSN Activity app. But can we send some data to the web application. Also, (although i don't think so), can we open page2.aspx from page1.aspx webpage within the MSN activity app. If yes, how?

2. MSN Activity Contest rules say that use of ActiveX controls is not allowed. Does that mean we can't even useXmlHttpRequest? I think without this ActiveX we won't be able to implement AJAX.

There are few more questions but i would like to have these answered first.

gkaushal,

1. Regarding multi-page Activity Apps - Activity apps only load the page pointed to by the URL supplied by the app creator. Thus, the app can only be one page. You can however simulate a multi-page experience using tabs or other methods. Many of the Zone Casual Games use a tab metaphore for this purpose.

2. At this time, AJAX can not be used for contest apps because the XmlHttpRequest method is within an ActiveX control. We are aware of this limitation and are looking for a solution to enable development of Activity Apps using AJAX. I don't have a timeframe on this yet. But, we will post more info as soon as it becomes available.

don't like this word - ajax. This is not more than DHTML+XMLHTTP, which was introduced back in IE4. And now this g..gle invented only(!) a new word - but have such face like if they was invented all of these...

Yes I agree. I got into a good argument with someone about this recently -- how quickly people forget.
