We don't provide any web support for bug entry in V1 - we only have web support for viewing bugs. However, we have done work to make sure that our object model can be used to build it. If you're interested in building it yourself, you could get our SDK (coming out this week) and try it. Alternatively, I know there are at least a couple of 3rd party products under development now to provide this functionality. Keep your eyes open for announcements.

Hi brain

Is there any object model ? We are evaluating TFS and if we can make something that our CEO and so on can see now they will use TFS, or they will want to get something else.

If you want something existing to show, one of the partners that developed a web-based front-end is devBiz with their TeamPlain front-end for the work item tracking system. There page includes some screen shots which should help show how it would work.

In terms of the object model, there definitely is one and while there are code samples in various blogs, the best place to check would be the Team Foundation Extensibility Kit (not yet out for beta3, but previous versions should be a start).

I just wanted to confirm, what I read in the thread. There is no current way of entering bugs into the system? Will this be the case for the release version? I know there is a bugs form, does it not track the information entered? Other CM tools have whole work flow plug-ins for tracking these bugs (change requests). Please tell me this is not the case.

Thank you,

Newbie

I'm not sure what you mean. We have many ways of entering bugs in the system. The Team Explorer and VS integration can be used. You can also use the object model. We also have a configurable work flow system. We do not currently (and will not for V1) have a web page for entering bugs. There will be some 3rd party add-ons available to enable more full featured capabilities via the browser. We will also be look at this as a possible built in feature in future versions.
