Credentials probem connecting to TFS

I have installed TFS beta 3 on a single server in workgroup (Server A).
Now I have some clients (WKS01, WKS02, ...) in a win2k domain (DOMAIN).
If I connect from WKS01 using IE then IE pops to ask the credentials, I type the workgroup user credentials and then I can see the WSS project portal.
If I try connect using VS 2005 it fails. I think that this problem is due to the fact the VS2005 pass the credentials of the user (DOMAIN\User1) belonging to the context in which VS is running.
There is a way to bypass this problem?
If not and I decide to move Server A in the domain, do I need to install again TFS?
Thanks
Fabrizio

Can you provide more information on the failure please?
Can you send us what the failure says?

Also can you post any applicable Application and Security NT event logs from the TFS server machine please?

What type of Win2k domain do you have? Is it Win2k native or mixed mode?
If native mode, was there a reason you chose not to install TFS on the domain?

Thanks,

I start Team Explorer on the TFS Server.
I connecto to TFS and when I expand a project that I have created before (name 'Esplorazione') I got the following error in the Application event log:
An unexpected condition has occurred in a Team Foundation component. The information contained here should be made available to your site administrative staff.

>>Can you provide more information on the failure please?
On the client machine (Domani\wks) I start VS2005 then i click on "Connect to Team Foundation Server".
I click on 'Servers'
I click on 'Add'
I enter the name of the server (Deposito2003)
I leave the port number unchanged to 8080
I leave the protocol unchanged to http
I Click 'OK' and I got a message box saying:

Unable to connect to this Team Foundation Server: deposito2003
Team Foundation Server URL: http://deposito2003:8080.

Possible reasons for failure include:
- The Team Foundation Server name, port numer or protocol is incorrect.
- You don't have dufficient permissions to connect to this Team Foundation Server.
- The team Foundation Server is offline.
- Password is expired or incorrect.

>>What type of Win2k domain do you have? Is it Win2k native or mixed mode?
All the machines in this domain are Win2k
>>If native mode, was there a reason you chose not to install TFS on the domain?
Because I do not want insert new products/systems/applications in the domain until I am sure that they works fine and I do not have a test domain.

Thanks

Have you tried starting the WebClient service, as suggested by the error message?

Fabrizio,

Can you send me the NT Event logs (including the security logs) from the Server machine, when you try and connect from the client in the W2K domain please?

Also you didn't answer my question: Is the win2k domain functional level (i.e. the domain controller mode) running in native or mixed mode.

Can you also confirm the OS of your domain client - is this a W2K client (I think you said it is above)?

Thanks,

Dan, I solved the problem.
On the client machine was installed VS2005 Beta2.
I removed VS2005 and everything that was installed with it
I intalled Team Explorer and when I try to access Team Foundation Server a pop up ask me credentials to access TFS. I type the username and the credentials and it was OK.
I then installed VS2005 RC and using an account with the same loginname and password in the domain and in the workgroup I do not even have to pass credentials explicitly.

The functional level of the domain is native mode (all the DCs are running windows 2k) and the client os is 2k professional.

Thanks for your help
Fabrizio
