DSL DM -> DD : new GUI-ed version
Hello.
Modelisoft has created, for its own experimentations with the DSL Tools, a tool namedDmd2Dd which makes it possible to remove and create shapes and connectors in the.dd file, when you rename or add concepts and relationships in the.dmd file.
The created elements have reasonable names deduiced from the.dmd named elements. And some default resource bitmaps are created as well.
This tool makes it possible to get a solution where the code is generated (by the "Generate All" command) and build without any warning / error (if, of course you start from a solution without warning / error) !
We think that this (very simple) tool has reached a certain degree of maturity and that it might be helpfull to others. You can find it athttp://www.modelisoft.com/Dmd2dd.aspx

I thought your tool sounded very useful indeed, so I tried it but the result was...
Error reading file 'D:\_LOTONtech\DEVELOPMENT\DSL\MyDiagram\Designer\MyDiagram.dsldd'
There is an error in XML document (2, 2).
I'm using VS2005 Beta 2 and the May DSL tools, so I wonder if the tool does not work with the latest versions?

A new version of the tool is available for download, still at http://www.modelisoft.com/Dmd2Dd.aspx. Its name has changed to DslDm2Dd, since this is a completely different tool, with a much improved user experience.
Now :
- It is GUI-ed,
- It has wizards to help in solving evolution problems, and in the process of affecting shapes to concepts and connectors to relationships.
- It is packaged in an .msi which installs it in VS 2005 "Tools" menu.
