external link checkers?

Many of the method and properties links on my SSB SDK ActiveX version are broken. For example, Inkcolor method on Overview page.Ran link checker in HelpStudio and it finds many broken links, butnot the ones on the Overview page.

My HelpStudio link checker shows extra links. Once these are deleted, there are no more error messages. Yet I still have broken links.

The broken links all appear to be older (recent ones work). They are all HelpStudio links to Document! X methods and properties. The broken links didnot show up in the link checker. I fixed them by hand – relinking them to the Document! X project.

Are there tools that can check all links in Help chm, HXS and collection files?

Hello - I'm sorry to report that Microsoft does not support any link checking tools for distribution. I would suggest contacting Innovasys for support on their linkchecking tools, also you might check out the FAR tool from Helpware.net that supports some linkchecking features.

thanks, FAR is not free, thought it has many features, only need the chm link checking feature, which used to be free, any other way to check links in complied Help file?
