Hi,

This is not really a Windows Forum but what the hell.

Create a share:

  • right click a folder/drive and select "Sharing and Security"
  • click "New Share" (the default share for a drive like C$ is only available for administrators)
  • enter the name of the share
  • click Permissions
  • add the user you want to be able to connect to the share (if you add users, all known users can connect to the share)

Show the share as a drive:

  • go to explorer
  • in the menu go to Tools\Map Network Drive
  • in the dialog box, set the location of the shared folder
  • (optionally) click the "different user name" to connect to the share using a different user name
  • check the "Reconnect at logon"

NOTE: by default Windows XP does not allow connections without a password (it is possible to disable this via policies)

Greetz,
