IVMRMixerBitmap9 Unsupported on Windows XP?

I have a customer who is using Windows XP with SP2, and they have a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 with the latest NVIDIA drivers?

It appears my program is failing when trying to obtain the IVMRMixerBitmap9 interface to overlay text over a video (interface not supported). Could this be possible?

If this is indeed possible, what is the suggested path to take to obtain the same functionality?

Thanks...

Very unlikely. I have a FX 5200 and it worked fine with this interface

when it was running XP SP2. Now, it's running Vista though so I can't test

it with the latest drivers. Have you tried sending him the Text9 sample as

a test?

VRM9 is definitely failing. I sent the customer the BitmapMixer test app from the .NET DirectShow library, and it failed instantiating CLSID_VideoMixingRenderer9.

The video card is a Leadtek A340-T GeForce FX5200 128MB DDR, AGP8X, TV-Out

I'm attaching the first part of their DxDiag output. I'm wondering if "Direct3D functionality not available" is the culprit?

Check whether video acceleration is disabled in Display Properties ->

Advanced -> Troubleshooting (or check the DX control panel if it's

installed). This card should support D3D9 and the VMR. - TMH

Perhaps its the video file that is being used and the video card does not support its format with VMR9.

If DXDiag says "Direct3D functionality not available.", then VMR9 cannot work. This is a problem of D3D support on the PC/Graphic card, not a DirectShow issue.
