Yet another UI gadget?

WPF/E looks like just another wizbang gadget. There have been several from Microsoft over the years and every time I start deploying sites using them, they go away and support is dropped.

In general, users are anti-plugin and especially in the case of Microsoft where there have been so many plug-ins or activeX controls in the past that just went away.

Most supported products from Microsoft have a 10 years support term (divided into two 5 years terms). "WPF/E" (codename) as well as ASP.NET AJAX will be supported products when they RTM. 10 years is eternity in Internet time. Having this kind of support is very important to our customers.
