Audio problem with CTP Samples

If I play back one of the wmv files that came with the CTP sample the audio is fine

However when played back in WPF/E the audio is incredibly loud and alot of buzzing noises

Anyone else experience this?

Which specific .WMV file are you hearing this with? Or is it all of them?

Its all of them that came with the samples + the streaming ones as well (the Video Library Sample)

Playing WMV via Media Player is fine though, but going through WPF/E gave me quite a shock (thought my headphones were going to blow :) )

cheers.

Thank you for the information. Can you please provide the following information - it will help us diagnose the problem further and create an equivalent repro machine here?

- Just to confirm - you have a 32 bit OS (XP SP2) on your AMD 64 machine and not XP x64 edition?

- Can you please run "dxdiag" on the command line on your machine? Save All Information an paste it here / send it out to us?

- Are all your audio drivers up to date?

Thanks for your help!

I'm having the exact same problem with any WPF/E app. It's like the runtime is completely ignoring the local volume settings. The system has a nVidia nForce audio.

I updated to the newest drivers for N-Force 4 motherboards and still have the same problem, using version 6.86 (6.86_nforce_win2kxp_international_whql.exe)

Anyone else still get this problem?

Thank you for reporting this. I have filed a bug with our team for this and we will try to reproduce the problem on a similar configuration and investigate it.

Same exact problem here. The Feb 2007 CTP didn't help.
