What is the vision for XOML only workflows?

WF Gurus,

I am having issues with locating code samples to retrieve activity values in the workflow's host. I have received numerous answers explaining how to bypass this problem without receiving specific code samples that would solve my problem. It seems there is a lack of documented samples that function with XOML only workflows (i.e., especially when using TrackPoints).

What is the vision for XOML only workflows?

There is many advantages of having XOML only worklows and perhaps many people can say their share of ideas on why it is useful and i would like to say the main vision of having XOML only worklfows is to be able to execute workflows without needing to compile and without having dependencies on platforms.
