It should be in the left corner, right under the banner and above the tabs for your pages.
You can also try the easy way to add your sample gadget by putting this in your addressbar:
http://www.live.com/?add=MANIFEST-URL
Change MANIFEST-URL in your gadget.xml
You have to sign in with your liveID en make your own (home)page there
Then you can customize it (make pages and add stuff).
If you're using localhost as a server, make sure you've followed all the steps in 'Setting up your environment' in the SDK for serving your gadget.
Especially if you're using IE7 ensure you've added 'http://*.live.com' and 'http://*.start.com' to your trusted sites.
Also make sure you've set 'Access data sources across domains' setting to 'prompt' , this should also be the settings for your trusted sites.
Ensure that the url to your gadget.xml is right, otherwise nothing will happen.
If you don't have IIS or you can't get your localhost working.
I'd suggest you try to upload your gadget to a server on the internet. If you don't have any webspace you could try some free servers like geocities or freewebs for instance. Then add the url.
It's a lot easier and you don't have to customize all kinds of settings in your IE or system.
Maybe it's because I'm not using IE7? I've tried both FF and IE6.
Anyway, this is how live.com looks for me.
I did follow the SDK instructions (about the trusted sites, etc.) and I do have IIS running - I've tested that localhost address and it works. This whole thing is really weird.
That's really weird! Never had this experience...
I can't imagine that IE6 is the problem, I'm sure you should be able to open www.live.com with FF.
I'd suggest you contact support on this problem.
