Time delay for Redirect Pages

Hi,

I've got a MOSS site and want to control the global navigation links to show a list from a sub site.

I've turned on Show Pages option for the site collection navigation options, and the same for the sub site concerned.

Then I created a redirect page in the sub site to reference the list in that sub site. This redirect page successfully shows up in the global navigation now, but when I click on it, there is a 5 second delay whilst the actual redirect page is shown. How/can I configure this 5 second delay?
