Moving Documents

Can documents be moved from one folder to another?

certainly. the easiest way is to use the explorer view of each document library to drag the file to where ever you need to.

You can also use this method:

Hover over file > click the arrow to get to the individual file's menu > Send to > Other Location.

The only options from the Send to command are local directory. What if I want to move the document to another folder, or even document library?

You can do so using the Content and Structure tool. Got to the site settings page. Click on the "Content and Structure" link. Browse to the document by navigating the treeview on the left. On the context menu of the document pick "move" option. You should get a target picker to pick the target library. Click Ok.

Hope that helps!

Do you know what features or services must be switched on for using "Send To>Other Location" link?

When I'm trying to copy a document this way I get just empty message box and nothing is copied.
