If your passport ID is not provisioned for the Windows Live Messenger Beta, you will not have the full functionality enabled. The invitation the first 5 app submitters get enables them to access the full functionality of the v8 client.
I'm assuming you are using one of the various proxy hacks that have been developed to allow people to use the v8 beta. If thats what you are doing, you're basically running v8 in v7.5 mode.
And, no need to have people email you for the beta bits. They are available for download from MSDN. But, like I said above, they don't do you a lot of good without a Passport ID that has been provisioned for the beta.

Yes, Messenger v8 has a new set of features that are only exposed if your Passport account has been provisioned in the beta. Hacking the client won't enable the new features because they are controlled at the server. Like you said Dylan, at this point you are running Messenger v8 as a fancy skinned version of Messenger 7.5.

Putting your email address here won't help you to get an invitation. Please read the first post instead of begging for an invitation.
