After March Orcas install, no more DataSource connections
I have Visual Studio 2005 installed on Vista with .NET 3.0 and SQL Server 2005 (Dev edition). All of the latest patches are installed, including SP2 for SQL and SP1 for VS 2005 (and the Vista patch). I have a couple of DataSource connections under the Server Explorer tab.
So, I install the March Orcas CTP and the DataSources under VS2005 no longer work nor am I able to create a new DataSource under Orcas. After going through the wizard, I get an error dialog with the following message:
Microsoft Visual Studio
Unable to find the requested .Net Framework Data Provider. It may not be installed.
It is acting like System.Data is not installed correctly. I uninstalled Orcas and that didn't correct the problem. I uninstalled VS2005 and reinstalled it and the problem was gone.
Because I am a hopeful optimist, I tried installing Orcas again and the same problem is back.
Does anyone have a quick fix before I have to uninstall and reinstall again?
