News & Introductions

Greetings, and welcome to the Windows Live ID developers forum. I am Josh Brown, SDK writer for Windows Live ID here at Microsoft. My unique position within the team gives me direct access to the developers, testers, and planners that are working hard every day to make cool new online services to enable the next generation of web applications.

As part of my role, I am committed to making this forum the best it can be. If you have a question, post it here and I will do my best to make sure it gets answered. If I don't know the answer, I will find someone here at MS who does.

The first bit of news I would like to announce is the public availability of the Windows Live ID Client 1.0 SDK Alpha. Whew! That was a mouthful. The Client SDK is designed to allow you to add Windows Live sign-in to your Windows Forms based desktop applications. For more information on the Client SDK, read about it in our blog:

Or just download it here:

http://connect.microsoft.com/site/sitehome.aspx?SiteID=347

The Client SDK includes a fully functional sample application that allows the user to sign-in and post to their spaces blog, right from the desktop!

If you have questions, comments, feature suggestions, bug reports, documentation feedback or just want to show off your latest Windows Live ID enabled application, post it here! This forum is dedicated to the discussion of all Windows Live ID technologies, services and products that are publicly available. For support on internal technologies, such as IDCRL and RPS, please use the support resources specifically designed for those products.

Windows Live ID relies on the feedback of you, the developers, to achieve our vision. Thanks for helping to make Windows Live ID the best authentication platform available!!!
