Windows Live ID SDK, seriously

Does it exist? Is the team still working on it? Is there any news at all?

For something that seems critical to the MS Live ecosystem being adopted by developers, it sure seems like its been all but abandoned. According to earlier statements, the SDK should either have been released by now /or/ be released in the next few weeks.

What's going on?

The Live ID blog may be the best place to find an answer... even though they haven't updated it in a lil while.

I've been. It looks like the last time the blog was updated was when Trevin Chow was still on the team; he's moved on since then, and there's been a dearth of news.

Looking through other team member's blogs, there's no mention of any progress on this technology front - seriously, it looks like the project is dead. I don't believe it is, but come on - some word, update, or something. Will there be an SDK? Ever?

Hey, sorry for being quiet for a while; we were busy working on our release. (We recently released our Live ID 4.5 release!) Live ID client SDK project is definitely not dead. We are very close to releasing it and we will update you very soon. Thanks for being patient and it is great to see your interest.

Thanks,
- Vivek

So what's the ETA?

Can this SDK be used for Web Apps? (For Passport authentication in ASP.NET?)

Any update on the release? All of the Live ID developer sites say that it will be released in Fall 2006 but I haven't found a download link for the SDK?

Thanks,

Ed

Ok great I think the SDK is cool and all, but can we have some info on how it can be used in ASP,J#,C++ and VB.NET. Don't even need the code just the procedure on calls and usage would be good. Please give us more to work with then ..."Look what we can do"

The Client SDK is designed for use from Windows Forms applications, not web applications. Is there a specific Windows Forms based scenario you are curious about? Please post more details and I will try to answer your questions.

Specific Windows Forms scenario: we don't need Windows forms, we need Web Forms!

we would like to use WIndows Live in Forms Authentication with Reporting Services. Our users are in one domain that is not trusted by the domain that owns our servers. Could we do a silent authenticate from the login form? THen we can assign the appropriate role based on our lookup scheme for the authenticated user. Is this plausible.
