new project options missing

I just installed Visual C# Express on my laptop and ended up with a problem. The install seems to have succeeded except that when I run the IDE, and try to create a new project, the dialog that opens has no options for any type of project in it. None. The dialog is empty no matter how I bring up the new project window.

I've tried windows updates hoping that it was an update that failed or something during installation, but I didn't manage to find anything there. I've looked around online but couldn't find a forum where anyone had written about this problem.

So currently, my visual C# express is not usable on my laptop for creating a project. I'd guess (haven't tried) that I can open a project just fine. What's the solution to this problem? Uninstall and reinstall? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

First, make sure that you follow the correct steps to install the VS express and create a project in a proper way.

It can be caused by failure of installation (the installer may not complete or lose something )

Then check if your computer meet the requirement, if so, please reinstall with the complete setup.

If you have further problem about the installation, you may deliver it to Installing and Registering Visual Studio Express Editions

Thank you

Since making my original post, I tried a few things. What ended up working was attempting to uninstal... which gave me the option of repairing the install. The repair option worked just fine. I apologize for not updating my post, but it slipped my mind. It was apparently just a faulty install. It was odd to me that everything else worked though.
