Custom web services and exception propagation

Hi,

I am in the middle of converting an application to run within WSS. It has several web services and they are set up to serialise and return any exceptions to the client using SoapExtensions. In a normal IIS environment this seems to work just fine but having now embedded the web services in to WSS the exceptions are all being picked up by WSS and turned into html error pages and the client recieves an html page instead of an xml document etc..

Does anybody have any suggestions? I need the web services to live within and be managed by WSS but I also need the exceptions to be passed back to the client.
