How is the XSL being created?

I wanted to add something (a checkbox) in the XSL stylesheet of the BDC list web part. But everytime the view of the web part is changed the XSL is newly generated and all of my changes are lost.

How can I add something to the BDC list web part (int the XSL stylesheet) and let the user still change the view? Where is the XSL being generated? Can I modify this process?
