rrsubmit and customization of webservice

Hi,

Regarding the rrsubmit webservice method exposed in MOSS, I note that this methoddoes not provide any capability for a scenario where any control is exposed on how directories are created for a document library associated with a particular record routing.

Our scenario requires not only an approach that support programatic access, but allows a specific hierachy of information within a given document library. What would be the best practice approach for programmatic submission for such a scenario?

Thanks,

Barton

Barton,

it is the way the MOSS 2007 Record Center Web service works.if you need custom directories, you will have to create a custom workflow or a custom policy that would handle this.

I'm not sure if I understand your answer.

For example, are you suggesting that we use the web service to submit, in which case MOSS will create a folder or reuse the same folder it created on the first submission at which point a custom workflow can be set on the records center document library that moves documents to more human-readable folders. Is that along the lines of what you are suggesting? How would a custom policy fit into this scenario? Or is that an alternate scenario?

You can write a custom router to control the folder names created in the record center.see the following URL on msdn for more details.
