How long is the Beta period for this service? I would use the Office Live Basics but I need to upload my site from another html editor as I have already created one. Just a time period please! I don't mind in depth answers but all I need to know is the time.
Hi - are you referring to the Trial period? According to the http://officelive.com site, its 30 days.
You can downgrade from Essentials to Basics if you want.

Does that mean I can use the Office Live Essentials to upload my website and then I can downgrade to Basics for the remaining life of the site? If that is so, that would be grrrreat!

Are you using a trial or are you part of a beta such as the UK Beta? If you are part of one of the Int'l Betas we don't have a published date on when it will be ending.
Currently if you are using BYOS and then downgrade to Basics you will be asked to turn off BYOS at which time your custom files will be deleted.

What IS "Microsoft Office Live Collaboration"? And is it needed for having a Office Live Basic account? (...whereas after the beta period there would be some charge.)
AND are there ANY charges for creating and maintaining an Office Live Basic account for the life of the account? (For example: $5 for creating a domain, or somethings like that.)

You can have one type of offer at a time, the Basics offer and Collab offer are not tied together.
