ok so I have Vista build 5253 in a VM , VS2005 Pro, and I want to code up an implementation of the new IPropertyStore interface - plus I also want to play around with all the other new shell interfaces.

Q: exactly what PSDK should I be using?
Q: where can I get it?
Q: where can I find documentation for all these new shell interfaces?

You should be able to find documentation for IPropertyStore and other new Vista Shell Ifaces in the latest Windows SDK: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=0A118D5F-21E7-4A3E-82D9-F30C6CE3F63D&displaylang=en

NOTE: this SDK release (Nov CTP) only targets WinFX for Nov CTP as there is no November release for Windows Vista, nor does the SDK target the version of Vista you have (bld 5253), but you may find the documentation helpful nonetheless.

Also note, the SDK is an ISO .img.
