uninstall tool screen blank

Hi,

I'm almost certain that I do NOT have any beta Microsoft products. However, just in case, I tried running the uninstall tool over the internet, because I want the Express products. But all I get is a flash of something, and before I can read it, I get a white blank screen. After half an hour, or so, I closed the window, & I found it's log which ends,

[12/3/2005 2:1:40] <3700> Issue Uninstall Visual Studio components is possible on current machine
[12/3/2005 2:1:40] <4036> Search done
[12/3/2005 2:1:40] <4036> Waiting for UI
[12/3/2005 2:1:40] <4036> Found some potential problems
[12/3/2005 2:1:41] <4036> Waiting for user input on search result page
[12/3/2005 2:24:50] <4036> User clicked cancel or closed ui somehow

What do I do now?

I have Windows XP/SP2. All I can think of is this: I recently installed a free Delphi from a magazine which I want to keep; Windows update recently gave me .Net Framework 2.0. (XP came with .Net Framework 1.1, and Delphi has used a .Net Studio 2003 directory. From what I've read on the Express website, neither of these things should be a problem.).

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. (I'll be back to see any replies before Christmas - hopefully sooner!).

Sorry, but there was one synonym (white) that I forgot to search for before I posted this! Someone else had a thread with the same problem - although he/she had not had any replies at the time. Anyway, since I've had no replies either, and, more to the point, since I have now installed everything, I might as well answer myself and not leave this thread hanging.

In summary, I just stopped the beta removall tool (can't recall how), and decided to ignore it because I did not believe it was relavant to me, having no betas on my machine in the first place. Still, it would be nice to know why it didn't work!

I didn't use the tool, I removed dotnetfx using Add/Remove because I couldn't remember whether it was a Beta or not. And I haven't had a problem yet. If you do get inexplicable problems, maybe try that anyway.
