Help! packages not loading properly

Package Visual Studio Common IDE Package has failed to load properly (GUID =
{6E87...5B7C}). Please contact Package vendor for assistance...

It allows me to go ahead and start using VS. Then when I try to get the properties of a project I get a similar error message:

Package Visual Studio Project Settings and Designers Package has failed to load properly (GUID =
{6790...9A9A}). Please contact Package vendor for assistance...

I was unable to find anything in the MS knowledge base regarding this
particular problem.

I tried a repair and reinstall which claimed to go through successfully, however I still have the problem.

Can anyone help?
