Uninstalling C++ Express Edition

Hello all,

I have C++ Express Edition on my pc at the moment. I'm trying to uninstall as we've just started on on a massive project at work using the C# language and I need to brush up on it
as we've been working with C++ for the past year.

When going into Add/Remove programs I uninstall everything related to C++ Express Edition -

Microsoft MSN 2005 Express Edition
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0

- and then reboot the pc. Then I try to download C# 2005 Express Edition and find out that I can only install the SQL 2005 components. ?!?!? Am I missing something? I've gone into
Documents and Settings and have removed the visual studio 8 folders from the application settings folders, etc, etc but I can still only download the sql components.

Also, if I go back to download C++ Express (as a test like) I get told that I can download not only the sql components but also now the C++ IDE. So then, C++ 2005 Express Edition is still lurking about on my pooter.

Can anyone tell me the best way to uninstall? Also, is there any way you can have two different express editions running on the same workstation? Am I being a real numpty? (you don't have to answer that one :-) ).

Thank you in advance for reading this post. Cheers.

You should have no problem running C++ and C# side by side.
I would recommend you try installing again C++ and then C#.
If this doesn't work try following this instructions to uninstall both, before trying to install C# again.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/support/uninstall/default.aspx

If everything fails try going to the registry and clearing out the Microsoft>Visual Studio folder. Unless ofcourse you have other Visual Studio on your machine that you don't want to get rid of.

Let me know if this helps :)
