Cannot login into CTP

hi,

I have down the CTP fromhttp://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=B533619A-0008-4DD6-9ED1-47D482683C78&displaylang=en#Instructions which include 9 parts RAR files andVSCTPBase.exe .

My operation is Vista, after I installed these CTP files, system alert compatible warning, then I choose run in a compatible to install them again.

But when I using the following account

  • Username:Administrator
  • Password:P2ssw0rd

The system always say the domain or password is not right.

Has anybody can login this vpc on vista?

    Have logged in now.

Earlier I choose the Base01.vhd as the hard driver1, actually should be VSMar2007CTP_VSTSTFS.vhd

And when I changed the hard driver1, it pop up a window let me to change the parent image, I have chance to browse it to my Base01.vhd.

Then I can log in using the account.

I found the operation system is windows server2003, seems Vista cannot support TFS, right?

I have the same problem, but I have only Base01.vhd (have I to rename it?).

The correct password is P2ssw0rd (with zero) or P2sswOrd (with letter O)?

I tried both but I always have a logon faillure.

    Can any one help me?

    TIA

I think you just like me, do not know the differencing disk concept Smile

Following steps are what I did:

First, extract the Base01 vhd again to my local driver and set it to readonly at once (because we'll use it as clean parent image later).

Second, extract the VSMar2007CTP_VSTSTFS to my USB driver (you can also extract to your local driver).

Then you start the VPC2007, using "New Virtual Machine Wizard" to add Base01 VPC first, but do not start it.

After that using that wizard again to add VSMar2007CTP_VSTSTFS, then start this one. Seems it cannot find the original base image (because we change the base image directory) and will popup the window let us choose new base image, we do it.

I think then we can login it now.

If can refer to this article to learn more concept of differencing disk.

I have been able to logon (on XP) by using VSMar2007CTP_VSTSTFS.vhd instead of base01.vhd as explained in the instructions. Using Administrator and P2ssw0rd, do mind the keybord layout.
