Business Data Type Picker Empty

I have created a basic BDC on test server that runs just fine. However, I am now attempting to deploy it to another server who has the shared services installed on a different port (90). I have loaded it just fine via the Business Data Catalog - Import Application Definition, and can view all the details about it. However, when I head to an actual page to display the BDC using a Business Data List, the search box says that no Business Data Types are available.

I'm thinking this is either a permissions thing, or maybe its related to the fact that the shared services is on port 90, and the actual sites are on port 80. Anyway, if anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Rob

Is that SSP the default SSP associated with the site.

Looks like you have two different systems and therefore you have to import the application definition again on shareservice (90).

Yes, it is the default provider.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by this. How would importing the application again have an effect? Should I remove the existing copy, and then import it again?

Thanks,

Rob

rbb,

What you need is to make the original list to point to the new server (in port 90)?

Can you explain more the problem?

Thanks - Javier

Check permissions of the application and permissions of the entities. In my case, permissions on entities were missing, while application permissions had my admin account listed. You can propagate permissions set at the BDC application level to descendants, that is, entities.

rpp,

My assumption is that you are using the web application which isn't associated with SSP in which you imported the BDC application metadata. In actual, BDC's are associated with SSP not the sites. BDC's are associated with SSP - and applications are associated with SSP, seems the web application you are using isn't associated with the SSP in which you imported the BDC application definition.

Can you please more elaborate on your problem. Hope this helps you out!

Qazi.
