When will Visual Studio 2005 ship?
I place an order on November 7 with Amazon for VB2005Pro and still they have not ship it yet because they have no receive stock from Microsoft.
Does anyone know when Microsoft will start shipping the new version?

I have ordered my copy of VS2005 standard for about 3 weeks now, the delivery date from the supplier has been postponed twice already. Microsoft in Australia says that there is stock available but by looking at the various retailer's sites it does not seem that they have it in stock. 1st delivery schedule was for Nov 23rd, then it went to Dec. 3rd currently ETA Dec. 10th...somehow I don't think I'll see it then but one can only hope

I'm developing using the beta version, I was planning to do a full reformat of my laptop when VB2005 arrives.
If I only have a ship date I could easily download the free Express and start working until it arrives.

The Visual Studio I ordered has not arrived either. But, I received the SQL Server 2005 Evaluation pack last week, which includes VS 2005 Prof Eval. Odd that they would ship the "free" version before the one people paid for.
I don't trust MS Uninstall tool, even the one they have in their new site, I tried it and could before and it did remove the beta#2 but could not remove SQLExpress Beta.

If I do then I will have to reformat again just to completely get rid of Express and SQL and be able to install VB2005Pro.
In UK, distribution channel is saying it will be 21st December before stock arrives so I would guess retail isnt going to see it until a day or two after that.
I've ordered VS 2005 on November 28 when it was supposed to have been released and I still haven't received it. The vendor (Programmers Paradise) says that Microsoft hasn't released it yet. I know the 90 trial version has been backordered and won't be out until December 22nd.
Has anyone out there acutally received it and from what vendor?

I also order from Amazon on Dec 2 , and they tell me delivery will be between Jan 6 to Jan 16. Meanwhile, the Beta2 should stop working before they ship. Sure sounds like shipping form MS got delayed or something. Amazon orginally said product would not be available till Nov 28. So does that mean Beta2 expires Dec 28? Ugh
I have received an email from my supplier (VS2005 standard) and he said that there is now stock in Australia and should ship tomorrow or the day after
I did the uninstall tool on my laptop, it cleared everything out. Had a clean install of the VB 2005 Express without a hitch. If you don't really need anything from the Prof version yet, I would uninstall and install the Express. Everything works faster and better!!! Did the same to my Desktop, then found out there is a problem with making a disk, but got it going and works great here also. Don't think you really need to do a reformat to you laptop. I have not had a glitch yet.
Replying to myself.....I got my package today. I have loaded my application on the download page of my website at
www.ampertronics.com.au if anyone would like to donload and try it out you are welcome. It is a imple program that is a cross between Notepad and Hyperterminal and sends thing out to the serial port. Any installation or other problems/suggestions are welcomed. I'll post the same on another thread so that helpful people can see the result of their input
My order at CDW is backordered it said... but it said it ships in 1-2 weeks, hopefully.
I also ordered my first MSDN premium subscription 
. I wish I could go ahead and get that now, but I suppose I'll have to wait for shipment to even see that.
Finally Amazon just shipped my VB2005Pro.
