Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition' - Package Load Failure dialog box appearing.
In addition to installing 'Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition', I have installed the Add-In Package 'Microsoft Report Designer'. But when I load 'Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition' I get a Package Load Failure dialog box appear. It says
'Package "Microsoft Report Designer" has failed to load properly (GUID = {F3A96850-E2AE-4E00-9278-8FE23F225A0D}), Please contact package vendor for assistance. Application restart is recommended, due to possible environment corruption. Would you like to disable loading this package in the future? You may use 'VWDExpress/resetskippkgs' to re-enable package loading.'
How can I correct this? And how do you use VWDExpress/resetskippkgs command to re-enable package loading?

Thanks for asking! I'm a member of the ASP.NET team, and was just popping over here to see what was going on. The best place to ask ASP.NET questions is over on the ASP.NET forums at
http://www.asp.net/welcome.aspx?tabindex=1&tabid=39 You can run "VWDExpress /resetskippkgs" from the command line where VWD is installed, that should reset the skipped packaged. Before you do that though, try doing a repair on the Report Designer, then reset the packages. If that doesn't work, post again on teh ASP.NET forums.

Even I got the same error..Try to install VWD in %ProgramFiles% and not in any other location, this solved my issue, reason was my VWD install location was D:\Progra~1\.... while Reporting Add-in files were installed in %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\... Uninstalling VWD and Report Add-in and reinstalling them in Default location specified should help. Other workaround could be changing the value of this following key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VWDExpress\8.0\Packages\{F3A96850-E2AE-4e00-9278-8FE23F225A0D}\SatelliteDll from D:\Program Files\... to say C:\Program Files\... This could also help, though it did not work for me in a XP machine but helped in a Win2K machine.
I am having a similar problem, have noticed that VWDexpress is consuming 99% cpu, and the design option does not work.
I tried VWDExpress /resetskippkgs but that option is not avaible.
Any suggestions besides reinstalling.
