Vista 64 ultimate will not recognise my dvd burner

Hi I have a NEC nd 3540a dvd burner and a samsung dvd drive.

vista 64 ultimate operating system will not recognise the nec drive as a burner. I have checked in the Registry as you have said on other threads with this problem but cannot find the Reg key that relates to the burner, it just seems to say that i have one dvd/cd rom drive.
