Lets start over. You have a MySites environment that has been created. You then clicked MySite on the top right corner and it provisioned a MySite for you. I am not following what you are saying about the collegue though... can you go into more detail? Are you using Knowledge Networks?

not correct i think. the path of the colleague was automatically created after i select the particular colleague in my MySite

no..im not using knowledge networks.

like what u said..the site already provisioned a MySite to me. then i add one colleague in Colleagues section in my MySite. then when i try to click the name...the page cannot be found. it point to one address that is automatically created i think. similar with MyProfile in my MySite.. when i select MyProfile...it point to person.aspx/account.......

Is the url for the colleague's MySite equal to the url of your MySite, disregarding the url-argument (...?accountname=_some_colleagues_name_here_).

Sorry folks... been out of the loop with the Forums but wanted to revisit this one... I have seen this in new environments and the reason has always been that the collegue (even though the Users Profile was imported via the Profile Import tool) never created a personal mysite. Please ensure this collegue has done this.

Hi!

The user-profiles exists and the pages 'My Page' is created but when I click 'My Profile' I do receive a 404-message.

It looks like the page/file 'Person.aspx' has vanished.

Anyone who knows how to restore/create that aspx-file?

that is a dynamic file. so even though it looks like it's missing that's not really the problem. We're experiencing the same thing, I think it has something to do with how the mysites were created as part of the site collection within the SSP site and not as a seperate site. I can't figure a way around it at the moment and am considering reinstalling the SSP portion.

I found this thread...
http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1354033&SiteID=1
I followed the instructions below and it solved my issue.

My workaround was to "import" through SharePoint Designer to the root a file located @ <InstallDrive>:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\TEMPLATE\SiteTemplates\SPSMSITEHOST\person.aspx.

my followup post...

I had that same issue and imported the person.aspx page in and it solved my issue. Bizarre. I can't figure out why that was an issue. The mysite and admin sites were on the same collection and I had the Mysite pages off the root of the main sharepoint site instead of being redirected to a sub collection, but it still should have worked. It worries me that this fixed it. It also fixed my mysite search issues now that the pages can be found.
