Windows Live Messenger - Mobile Device Error!

Hi,

i have been using windows live messenger for a long time now. recently a friend told me that sometimes my appearance on windows live messanger is shown as mobile device wheras i am never signed onto a mobile device. i do not even have a messenging software on my mobile. my friend told me he is unable to contact me over messanger due to the fee he must pay to talk to me. i asked a few other friends and apparently they have the same problem where i am on a mobile device and it asks for a fee.

i am not sure why this happens. could there be some settings i have to change or have i been hacked?
