Sharepoint sites within the default website?
I have recently purchased a server with Windows Server Small Business Edition 2003 R2 with SharePoint 3 installed.
By default, I get a website installed on port 80 as the default website, and this runs many SBS features, including OWA and Terminal Services etc.
I also get web sites for WSUS administration, Sharepoint Administration, Sharepoint Central Administration, "Companyweb" on port 80, and the site collection default website that was created after SharePoint 3 setup. Apart from "companyweb", all of these are on different ports.
What I want to do is retain the default website on port 80, providing access to the integrated features that came with SBS (like Exchange OWA, OMA, WSUS, connect computer, remote workplace, backup services etc), but then have the SharePoint 3 sites that I am going to create (such as a blog, a wiki, a social meeting workspace, and document workspace), but have them accessible through port 80 as virtual sites (or some other method).
So, currently I havehttps://server.fqdn.domain/exchange for OWA, andhttp://server.fqdn.domain/ for the website root,http://server.fqdn.domain/remote for the SBS remote workplace feature, but the SharePoint sites are athttp://server.fqdn.domain:31239 andhttp://server.fqdn.domain:30484 and I want them to be accessible fromhttp://server.fqdn.domain/blog andhttp://server.fqdn.domain/meeting
Unfortunately our ISP uses a web-based firewall configuration system, and we can only configure ports 80, 25, 443 and other commonly used ports for external incoming access.
Is this possible to have them all accessible through one hostname/url on one port (80)? Step by step instructions if possible!
