Reporting Services won't install on Vista Ultimate

I've tried several times, enabling IIS as instructed (I can see the IIS 7 home page), but I keep getting the warning message when setup runs the system check that IIS is either not installed or enabled. If no one else has run across this, I'll try to uninstall 2008 and then reinstall again. This box originally had SQL Server 2005 installed, but I removed it and the client tools before installing Katmai.

I completely uninstalled all things SQL Server and retried, but the setup still thinks I don't have IIS installed or enabled. I tried to run sqlrun_RS.msi and received a pair of message boxes:

1) 0:Watson 1:1304 2treamSupportFiles 3treamBinaryToDisk 4:5 5:e\sql10_custom_t\sql\setup\darwin\sqlcastub\streamca.cpp 6:238 7qlcastub.dll 8qlrun.msi

2) Error writing to file: Access is denied. .Verify that you have access to that directory.

Any thoughts? I am an administrator on the box and everything else appears to install.
