Vista - IE Browser 7.0 - File Download
Hi,
When we download a file using IE browser, it pops up a message box with 3 option - a. Open, b. Save, c. Cancel. If you click on save and open the file - No issues. But if you click on Open, it uses the Temporary folder to save the file and opens the file from there - When it tries opening the file - It throws a error - " The file xyz.xyz is in use by another program. You must close the file first ". We don't get this error with earlier version of IE.
Kindly let me know if it is bug in Vista. Is there a work around for it? Do we need to fix in the code?
Thank you,
Rajshekhar
Why don't you try saving as to a location of your choice and then launch it from there.
That said, this is a developer forum and a logo certification forum, not an end user troubleshooting forum.
Check the sticky at the top of the forum for the main support url.
Hi Bruce,
I am a developer for the web project in which we have identified this issue as part of Regression. That's true that user can click on the save and than open option to open the file, but this is work-around and we would like to know if there exist any fix or its a issue with Vista and its part of known issues.
would like to thanks and appreciate for your quick response.
Thanks,
Rajshekhar
