"Start video call" missing

Hello.

I installed an NX-6000 with an existing installation of Windows Live Messenger. It installed without error, however when I right-click on a contact who also has an NX-6000, I do not have the "Start video call" under "Video". I do have the "Show your webcam" and "View a contact's webcam" options, but no option to start a video call. Additionally, when I press the button on top of the NX-6000, nothing happens.

When my friend initiates a video call to me with his NX-6000, everything works fine.

I looked at the NX-6000 troubleshooting suggestions on MS's website, but they didn't help.

Thanks - Dave

Hello,

I just Google'd the same problem and came to this website. In our case we were installing things on a computer that had crashed. Restarting Messenger seemed to solve the problem for us. Perhaps the camera had been installed while messenger was running it didn't pick up on it.

If that doesn't work I would try reinstalling messenger.

Good luck!
