Problems with RCX

Hi, I have a Lego RCX and I follow the instructions of the setting up the hardware documentation, I install the RIS software but when I make a simple diagram in VPL and run it the led of IR tower turns on but nothing happen I have already check the manifest for RCX and the diagram, it works fine with fischertechnik, NXT but my RCX didnt works any help I′m running Windows Vista and I have install the driver for the IR tower too, any help please.

Hello Imix.

Have you verified that you can connect to the RCX from your PC? You might check out these links for troubleshooting the RCX.

If the RIS software is working, the next step is to check out the logs which are generated when you run the MSRS service. If you have configured VPL to run with a different port, you will need to replace the 50000 below.

Hi Dave, the RIS its working fine with RCX I have just made a program and run it in both ways live and then downloded and it′s working fine but a simple diagram in VPL didnt work the led of the tower turns on and in the window of VPL I can read "your porject is running" but nothing happens.

I will cheking agian perhaps I′m issing something.

Thanks for the links but the first one is for code programming and I want to use the blocks of VPL im working with no experts programmers, I have checked the Lego FAQs and i have already install patches and updates.

Can u help me to check the steps of the documentation:

1.- Install de IR tower dirvers

2.- Install RIS Software 2.0

3.- Install Lego SDK 2.5

4.- Install the patches

And after that then I can use VPL for the diagrams that′s rigth? If a miss a step can you help me please?
